Find the most efficient Chord Shapes for a progression

I would like to learn the most efficient chord shapes for the common chord progressions that show up in the songs of the musicians I like. I would bet there are no more than 50 of them.
A “game” for that might be to give a specific sequence of 3 - 4 chords by name, and perhaps a starting fret, and then try to find the sequence of shapes that efficiently create the progression.

I think this is doable for Triads..that are basically simple chords with non-repeating notes. Might pick this up in the next month or so

Going through Canny right now and wanted to comment that this is still a pretty cool idea. Full plate at the moment but will definitely keep this open for future.
